The Basics
All players must be registered with our Club and Basketball ACT before they can play in the competition. Registration is completed via an online form that will be provided to you prior to playing your first game. This registration form will cover both Ramblers and Basketball ACT registration processes. Fee’s are collected at the end of the online form.
When to register
Player Registrations are open from approximately 6 weeks prior to the season commencement. They will remain open until 6 week out from the end of the season. This allows for players who wish to join Ramblers mid-way through a season. Unfortunately, we can’t accept new players in the last 4 weeks of completion due to rules imposed by Basketball ACT. However, we are happy in most circumstances for new players to attend training sessions with their new team.
Where to register
The online form is provided by our Coordinators by email. Please ensure you add ramblers.net.au to your safe list within your chosen email application. The online form is provided to Ramblers by Basketball ACT, using a platform called PlayHQ. PlayHQ is used by several sporting bodies across Australia and within it you will find game times, past results, the competition ladder and player statistics.
You will be required to create an online account within PlayHQ but this will save time registering in future years. Please be mindful to ensure your email address and any players dates of birth are correct as changes can be difficult.
Who needs to register
It is a requirement of Basketball ACT that all players and volunteers are registered within PlayHQ. This includes coaches, team managers and committee members. It is expected that in the next few seasons, parents undertaking score bench duties will also be required to register.
How to register
When completing the online registration form provided by our Coordinators, you will be able to select what type of registration you are looking to complete. A player registration will attract fees but the coach and team manager will not be charged to register.
How to receive a discounts
Discount codes are provided by the Ramblers committee, generally from the Coordinators, Treasurer or President. Discount codes are provided to volunteers as per our fee policy and normally for volunteering time and expertise. The code must be entered in to the PlayHQ online registration form prior to completing any player registration. This way, any fees payable will be reduced by the discount code.
Sibling discounts are provided as per our fee policy and are automatically applied by the PlayHQ system at the time of payment of the 2nd and subsequent players. This will only work if the person completing the player registration form is using the same PlayHQ account (email address) for each child. Discounts are not reliant on paying fees on the same day.
