The Basics
All players must be registered with our Club and Basketball ACT before they can play in the competition. Registration is completed via an online form provided to you prior to your first game. This form covers both Ramblers and Basketball ACT registration processes. Fees are collected at the end of the online form.
When to Register
Player registrations are open from approximately six weeks prior to the season commencing and remain open until six weeks before the end of the season. This allows players to join Ramblers mid-season. Unfortunately, we cannot accept new players in the last four weeks of competition due to rules imposed by Basketball ACT. However, new players are welcome to attend training sessions with their team in the meantime.
Where to Register
The online form is provided by our Coordinators via email. Please ensure you add ramblers.net.au to your safe senders list. The form is provided by Basketball ACT through a platform called PlayHQ, which is used by several sporting bodies across Australia. Within PlayHQ you can find game times, past results, the competition ladder, and player statistics.
You will need to create a PlayHQ account, but this saves time in future seasons. Please ensure your email address and any player dates of birth are entered correctly as changes can be difficult once submitted.
Who Needs to Register
Basketball ACT requires all players and volunteers to be registered in PlayHQ. This includes coaches, team managers, and committee members. It is expected that in coming seasons, parents undertaking score bench duties will also be required to register.
How to Register
When completing the online registration form, you can select the type of registration you need. A player registration attracts fees; coach and team manager registrations do not.
How to Receive a Discount
Discount codes are provided by the Ramblers committee, generally by the Coordinators, Treasurer, or President. Codes are issued to volunteers in line with our fee policy. The code must be entered into the PlayHQ registration form before completing payment, which reduces any fees payable by the discount amount.
Sibling discounts are applied automatically by PlayHQ when registering a second or subsequent child, provided the same PlayHQ account (email address) is used for each child. Discounts are not reliant on paying fees on the same day.
